FAQs
keepin' it weird
what should I wear?
Dance shoes! We don't have a dress code for our party. We'll be dressed up (and DEFINITELY wearing dance shoes), but we want you to be comfortable. So be comfortable. Of special note: There's no A/C in the venue, AND we're in Texas. P.S. Parking is on grass, so you might want to wait to put your dance shoes on until you're inside.
when should I get to austin?
We'd love for you to be around for a casual dinner on Friday in Austin! It's 100% optional and 100% casual. You can also fly in, get to Blanco, and leave on Saturday. Just come!

can i bring someone?
The more, the merrier! Please just let us know by RSVPing.

can i bring kids? pets?
The more, the merrier! Pets & kiddos are welcome to come, but know that there won't be a special area (or sitter) for them. Please just let us know when RSVPing.
what will we be eating?
Food, silly! We'll have a few Texas-inspired options (e.g., BBQ!) for our friends and family. And if you're gluten-free, vegan, etc. we'll have you covered. Just be sure to let us know when you RSVP, so we have enough of everything to go around.
if i don't bring someone, will i have to dance alone?
No way! The best part of ballroom dancing/social dancing is the SOCIAL part! (Also, dancing is pretty great). We'll be mingling and changing partners throughout the night. We'll also have a lot of people dancing on their own or in groups.
what if i don't know how to ballroom dance? or any dance?
We're working out the details on this BUT we hope to have a few casual lessons on Saturday - maybe some waltz. Maybe you want to learn some Texas 2-step when you're in Austin on Friday. We'll also have a lot of really great dancers who will help you out, and a lot of non-dancers making up their own moves on the floor. We'll be like a no-judgement zone but a lot less sweaty and with better food.

There will also be lots of other fun things to do at the party (think eating, yard and board games), so if you don't want to dance a lot or at all, you'll still have a nice time.
why'd you pick november?
One word: Texas.
A few more words: The average high temperature in Blanco in November is nearly 70 degrees, so it could still be warm.

how can i keep the costs low for the trip?
We're coordinating rides and other ways for folks to save moneys and have just as much (or more?!) fun. Fill out the form or shoot us a note if you want in. We don't want anyone missin' out because of mulah.

why aren't you getting married?
Because a dance party is so much more fun!
Also - we don't much care for the whole married vs. single government nudging. We'll write our own contracts, thank you very much! (PS feel free to ask us questions about this, just don't ask our parents!)

other questions we've missed?
Send us a note, and we'll get back to you.
